David Gottlieb is counsel at Parlatore Law Group and focuses his practice on all areas of cannabis and business law, to include entity formation, compliance, real estate, and financing.

Mr. Gottlieb began his career as a Legal Officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he managed, conducted, and organized matters ranging from courts martial to criminal investigations. He was twice selected to represent the Marine Corps to the government of Japan, as both a secondee to the Japanese National Parliament, and an aid’ de camp to the Japanese commander in a cooperative military exercise.

Prior to joining Parlatore Law Group, Mr. Gottlieb worked in the corporate practice group at the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. Mr. Gottlieb cut his teeth in the cannabis industry at a vertically integrated cannabis business in New Mexico. He managed the company’s legal and compliance programs and contributed to the state’s rulemaking process for its first recreational and medical cannabis regulations. As director of special projects, he was also in charge of launching new retail, manufacturing, and cultivation locations.

Mr. Gottlieb lived overseas for 10 years and speaks seven languages. When not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his two pit-bulls and pursuing his passions for art, cooking, philosophy, and fitness.
