John Cauley is a partner with Parlatore Law Group with over 28 years practicing law. He focuses his practice upon the representation of veterans, and entertainers, in addition to child advocacy.
Mr. Cauley is passionate about advocating for the rights of his clients, whether that means defending against criminal charges, enforcing the terms of a contract, obtaining compensation for an injury, or representing parents and children in the foster care system.
He brings a wide breadth of experience to his practice. He has served as an appellate prosecutor for the State of Tennessee in their criminal justice division, practiced insurance defense, and has decades of experience as a criminal defense attorney in state and federal court. In addition to defending the rights of adults, he has always included advocacy for the rights of children in his practice.
Outside of practicing law, Mr. Cauley spends his time immersed in music. He is an avid festival goer and enjoys the study of guitar and mandolin. He also loves boating and motorcycling, owning two antique bikes, in addition to a modern one. He is the treasurer of the Dragon Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Association and is a passionate advocate for motorcyclists inside and outside of the courtroom, having previously handled related cases.
He is an active member of the Knox County Bar Association, Blount County Bar Association, The Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, The Tennessee Bar Association. Additionally, he is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served from 1985-1997.
He is admitted to practice in Tennessee, in addition to the US District Court, Middle District of Tennessee; the US District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeal; and the 1st District Court of Appeal.
