–Sabina Khan, Partner

Sabina is joining Parlatore Law Group with a broad range of legal experience and success. As a criminal defense attorney, Sabina achieved dismissals for a number of clients facing serious misdemeanor and felony changes. As a constitutional trailblazer and advocate for change, she challenged the New York City Department of Correction’s illegal practice of holding undocumented clients past their judicially authorized time of release, ultimately leading to a city-wide change in the law. As a public defender, she also initiated an office-wide campaign to obtain officer misconduct records from the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB), which eventually led to a lawsuit filed by the Legal Aid Society (LAS) against the CCRB for its refusal  to provide misconduct records related to the death of Eric Garner, who passed away after being placed in a chokehold by the NYPD. Sabina was also one of the inaugural attorneys who helped launch the Queens LAS’ first Decarceration Project, where she challenged the constitutionality of New York’s bail statue and wealth-based pretrial incarceration, and secured the release of countless clients held in on excessive bail.

Sabina has also effectively handled a diverse caseload of complex litigation in medical malpractice defense and personal injury defense from inception to resolution, and has represented the interests of business owners, insurance carriers, hospitals, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in State Supreme Court.

Additionally, Sabina is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses by equipping them with the proper safeguards to successfully run and protect their businesses.
