Justin D. Bennett is a Partner with Parlatore Law Group who brings over twelve years of experience as an Active Duty Navy Judge Advocate to the firm. Mr. Bennett earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating Cum Laude in May 2014, after which he was admitted to the Missouri Bar. Mr. Bennett then embarked upon his service in the United States Navy, deliberately focusing his Judge Advocate career on growing as a courtroom litigator. Mr. Bennett served his initial three-year tour in Naples, Italy, where he gained experience as both a prosecutor and defense counsel. From there, Mr. Bennett served for nearly three years as a prosecutor in Bremerton, WA, where he was twice awarded the Region Legal Service Office Northwest Trial Counsel of the Year honor in 2018 and 2019. He then transitioned to being a defense counsel for three years with Defense Service Office North in New London, CT, where he was awarded as the DSO North Defense Counsel of the Year honor in 2021. Mr. Bennett concluded his Active Duty service with three years as a Military Justice Instructor at the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island, training newly-commissioned Judge Advocates across all three Sea Services (Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard) as they prepare to venture out into the Fleet. Mr. Bennett was designated a “Specialist I” in the Navy JAGC’s Military Justice Litigation Career Track in April 2021. Coinciding with joining Parlatore Law Group, Mr. Bennett transitioned to the U.S. Navy Reserve in October 2026.
During his military service, Mr. Bennett also sought out opportunities to gain valuable litigation experience with the United States Federal Government. He was privileged to serve for six months as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York, from October 2024 to April 2025, where he assisted in the prosecution of dozens of human smuggling cases. Mr. Bennett was also hand-selected to be among the first cohort of Judge Advocates across all military branches to serve as Temporary Immigration Judges with the federal Executive Office of Immigration Review from October 2025 to April 2026. In that capacity, Mr. Bennett adjudicated over 180 immigration cases (including, e.g., applications for asylum and cancellation of removal) to final resolution.
Mr. Bennett has recently launched a new social media channel called Military Justice Matters, where he seeks to bring critical information and much-needed clarity to the often-confusing and frightening military justice process that servicemembers and their families encounter. Mr. Bennett’s content can be found on most major social media platforms.
Mr. Bennett is eager to bring his wealth of experience as a Judge Advocate and litigator to Parlatore Law Group, where he can continue to serve those who have volunteered to put their lives on the line to protect our nation.
Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Bennett is blessed to be married to his wonderful wife, Lauren, with whom he is delighted to be raising five young children (three little cowboys and two beautiful princesses). As a family, they are actively engaged in their local church and the homeschooling community of eastern Connecticut.
