Frequently Asked Questions

A cloud-based law firm has all the same capabilities as a traditional law firm, except that all attorneys and staff work remotely. Parlatore Law Group was envisioned and built years prior to COVID-19.

We do not maintain any physical offices.  While most traditional law firms expend 50% of their revenue on maintaining large, opulent, and totally unnecessary offices, Parlatore Law Group avoids excessive overhead costs by maintaining mailing addresses in multiple states for licensing and registration purposes, with the main mail handling hub in Arlington Virginia.  Most of our attorneys and staff work remotely.

We have lawyers licensed in the following states:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Florida
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Texas
  • Washington DC
  • Wyoming

Additionally, we often represent clients in other jurisdictions by associating with local counsel.

Parlatore Law Group is not a political firm. Although we have represented several political figures, the firm does not identify with any political party. We value diversity of thought and pride ourselves on having a team of attorneys which includes people on both sides of the political spectrum. When taking on politically sensitive or controversial matters, our team does not pursue political or partisan strategies, but rather a strict focus on the facts, evidence and the law. Our Partner Manual, originally written in 2018, states the following:

“Our culture and market focus will lend itself naturally to representing political and other public figures on both sides of the aisle. The firm must take care to ensure that it never acquires a reputation of being a shill for any political party. For example, we should be able to defend Hillary Clinton just as vigorously as we would defend Donald Trump, as clients. No matter what our personal political views are, as a firm, our primary loyalty is to the Constitution and the ethical rules that govern our profession.”

In an increasingly divided country, we value having a diverse team that can work together respectfully and effectively. Differing opinions, respectfully discussed, lead to better results for our clients because we seek to understand each other and the opposing side to seek the most effective solution.

Parlatore Law Group values diversity in the workplace, but perhaps more importantly, we prioritize inclusion. As diversity consultant Vernā Myers stated, “Diversity is being invited to the party. Inclusion is being asked to dance.” Many law firms hire a diverse class of junior lawyers but fail to provide them a clear pathway to partnership and leadership within the firm. Parlatore Law Group focuses on ensuring inclusion of all our attorneys and staff, and that they all have opportunities for growth.

Our cloud-based model and corporate culture naturally fosters more diversity and inclusion, particularly for people whose lifestyles are less compatible with long in-person office hours. A large percentage of our attorneys and staff are women with young children – a demographic that is not traditionally supported by many firms, but which Parlatore Law Group embraces.

Absolutely! We routinely handle matters of every size and variety remotely. While cloud-based law firms may have seemed novel a few years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic taught everyone what we at Parlatore Law Group already knew – that remote work is effective, and in many ways far more effective than in-person work, if done the right way.

Our attorneys love to meet their clients in person and are happy to arrange meetings either at a neutral location or at your office. We find that meeting a client at their place of business is far more beneficial and productive because we can get a better understanding of how their business operates. Also, frequently when a client goes to the lawyer’s office, there is paperwork that they forgot to bring and need to send later. Meeting at your place of business eliminates these occurrences.

Parlatore Law Group was designed to handle a full spectrum of legal matters.

Our corporate law team is ready to assist will all aspects of entrepreneurship and business, no matter what your stage of development.  We can assist anywhere along the process from your initial idea through your IPO.

Our civil and criminal litigation attorneys are known and respected nationwide, and are ready to protect your rights in just about any situation.  From breach of contract actions up to securities fraud litigation or murder charges, our powerful team of litigators can help you to successfully navigate just about any legal issue.

We offer a variety of fee structures to our clients, depending on the specific needs of the case. While the default of the legal industry is the billable hour, we try to provide clients with more predictable billing through flat fees and monthly subscription rates, where appropriate. We do not generally work on straight contingency, but have offered partial contingency, hybrid arrangements on occasion.

Hiring a cloud-based lawyer is one of the most cost-effective ways to get obtain legal services. Traditional firms charge high rates because they incur significant overhead costs for maintaining physical offices; these overhead costs are passed onto their clients through their hourly billing rates. Conversely, the idea behind an entirely cloud-based law firm structure is to remove excessive traditional overhead costs and pass the savings onto the client. Many lawyers charge more than we do and some charge less. Legal fees are set by attorneys based on a multitude of factors, such as:

  • Time and labor required.
  • Novelty and difficulty of the issues involved.
  • Skill requisite to perform the legal service properly.
  • Fee customarily charged in the locality for similar legal services.
  • Time limitations imposed by the client or by circumstances;
  • Experience, reputation and ability of the lawyer or lawyers performing the services.

The above factors apply to all lawyers in private practice. However, because our cloud-based model allowed us to minimize overhead so dramatically, our goal is to provide premium legal services at 50% of the rate we would have charged if we were a brick & mortar firm.

There are never guarantees in the legal system. In fact, attorneys are required to include a disclaimer in their advertising which states “Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.” We begin to discuss our clients up front what a reasonably expected outcome would be.

Click here to fill out an intake form and we will schedule a free consultation with one of our attorneys.  Once you have spoken with the attorney, you will receive an engagement letter to electronically sign as well as a welcome package.

As a cloud-based law firm, we rely on various traditional and secure legal industry focused technologies to communicate with our clients.  In addition to the standard telephone, email, and video teleconferencing, clients will have access to the Clio for Clients app to access their file, upload documents and engage in secure text messaging with our attorneys and staff.
