Aviation Law covers all legal issues affecting air travel, aircraft and airport operations, including navigation, safety, maintenance and pilot licensing requirements. Most aviation regulations are enforced at the federal level, by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in addition to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which ensure passenger safety and regulate aviation safety, respectively.

Our attorneys at Parlatore Law Group have experience and proven success in handling client’s aviation concerns.  We represent individual pilots, aviation companies, associations, and contractors in a wide variety of situations.

Types of Matters we Handle:

  • Responding to letters of investigation from the FAA;
  • Defending against certificate action from the FAA;
  • Representing and assisting individual pilots and companies through incident investigations, as well as any administrative, civil or criminal proceedings;
  • Advising companies and individuals on regulatory compliance, including DOT drug and alcohol regulations
  • Negotiating settlements;
  • Litigating actions before the NTSB Administrative Law Judges (ALJ), as well as appeals to the NTSB and U.S. Courts of Appeals;
  • Appeals of medical certificate denials;
  • Drafting briefs as amicus curia on behalf of aviation associations;
  • Drafting and submitting Part 13 informal complaints and Part 16 formal complaints to the FAA

In addition to these “traditional” areas of aviation law, because of our firm’s close connection with the military aviation community, we also handle a wide variety of aviation-related matters that don’t necessarily fit into the traditional FAA, TSA, and NTSB structure.  For example, representing government contractors in the aviation industry and representing military aviators in disciplinary and administrative proceedings.
